Argentina is on a roll these days and there has been so much positive news about the country and all that it has to offer : MUCH MORE THAN JUST MALBEC! I have just found once again my old etching friend from Paris, France ( Christina Piceda , 1978-1979 ) and I speak always of Nora Favelukes and my old and new friends from CATENA and VALENTIN BIANCHI. Alfredo Bartholomaus comes to see me frequently ( just last week in Oct. 2011 ), he brings me wine-makers and owners all the time like Ernesto Catena. I meet new wine-owners/ makers like Lucas Nemesio of his own Pategonian wine NEMESIO.
Just a week or so ago ( a Tuesday night ) my wine rep Dan Terrasa brought me the owner Andrej Razumovsky of the winery ALPAMANTA and I really fell for both the 2008 Lujan de Cuyo Cabernet Sauvignon and the Lujan de Cuyo 2009 " Natal " Chardonnay. Both are biodynamic. It's the only / the first 100% biodynamic winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Bravo Andrej! It was great to have you come to the store this early October 2011, You are now along with many others like Lucas Nemesio a member of the Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits family!
It's really a very exciting time indeed for me here at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel: 202-363-4265 sales@clevelandparkwwine, anthony.quinn@clevelandparkwine, also now on Facebook at : Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits and on Twitter at : cpwinespirits ). People from Argentina pass through our doors all the time.
I will write more : time to go to work now. ALSO : through Facebook recently I have friended many people from Argentina and I love reading what they post in Spanish. It is helping to bring my Spanish back to me as I struggle to read and to comprehend. Gracias amigos, hasta luego ... Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn
